Melb-based indie pop artist KEZRA shares her infectious new single Insane. Delivered with lush upbeat melodies and hypnotic vocals layered over a lavish production, Insane is inspired by an "over-exaggerated fight with your partner that makes you question the whole relationship, afterwards realising you're both just as crazy as each other & thats what makes it work". KEZRA has received high rotation on JJJ + MTV Upload, praise from Milky, AU Review & supported G Flip.

Naarm/Melbourne-based indie-pop artist KEZRA has returned with a spellbinding new offering ‘Back Home’ – produced by Mark Zito (Fractures) and mastered by Matthew Neighbour (Matt Corby, Middle Kids, The Avalanches). “I started writing this song on the floor of my living room, strumming along on my guitar, but feeling very uninspired during lockdown. So, I plugged in my vocal harmoniser pedal, in the hope that it would give me some inspiration and help me write in a more creative way. It first began with the slow paused chord changes on the guitar. Then the lyrics - ‘I was taken back to the house where we met’ came to me whilst using my harmoniser and this instantly set the tone for where the rest of the song needed to go.

‘Missing You’, while further exploring the thriving creative partnership between Kezra and Zito, also saw Joel Quartermain (Eskimo Joe) come on board to record vocals, while noted engineer Andre Eremin (Matt Corby, Chet Faker) took the reins on mixing and mastering. The end result is a song that bursts with light and floats at its own layered pace. “This would have to be one of my most personal and vulnerable songs I have released and I’m so happy to share a little bit of my heart and soul with you.” KEZRA

As KEZRA - reflects on the process of working with Zito, the creation of ‘Better Place’ turned the duo into a bit of a music making dream team. “I had this Garageband demo that I sent through to him with piano, vocals and a few guitar riffs. From there, it really became more than I ever imagined. I said to Mark, I want to create something that I can lay there with my headphones and listen to it over and over again. At his home studio in Melbourne, we worked on the track together and had these really awesome ideas that I never would have thought of. From smooth chilled out synth lines to those funky guitar riffs in the choruses...oh my, he was on point as a producer. He just got it.”
